Consumer Advisory Group Presentation at Australia's National Youth Cancer Consumer Forum

Last weekend three of our Consumer Advisory Group members – Megan, Mikyla and Mackenzie – travelled to Sydney to present, work with, and be a part of Australia’s National Youth Cancer Consumer Forum.

During the weekend, the trio presented a one hour workshop on advocacy, with a focus on the Consumer Advisory Group’s recent campaign for changes to the National Travel Assistance Scheme.

We’ve heard some wonderful feedback about their workshop;

“the NZ AYA team… are an incredible group of people who really changed the perspective for me of what can be done within the advocacy space.”

Thank you to the Youth Cancer Services Australia team for generously inviting your kiwi cousins to join your weekend. We are looking forward to future collaborations!  And also big thanks to Ellyn Proffit, Keyworker for the Midlands region, who accompanied our three rangatahi.

And finally, to Mackenzie, Megan and Mikyla: Thank you for representing the Consumer Advisory Group and the AYA Cancer Network so well – you all did us SO proud!
