This group focuses on promoting national consistency in AYA cancer care across NZ while also promoting opportunities for national collaboration in the development of evidence based resources and initiatives.

The Network’s AYA Cancer National Action Plan 2020 to 2025 identified Fertility preservation as a national priority, with a commitment to re-establishing a fertility preservation working group tasked with reviewing and updating the 2014 NZ fertility preservation guileless/pathways of care.
The Network has now re-established the fertility preservation working group.

A number of passionate radiation therapists from around the country have formed this working group with the Network to improve the care given to AYAs within their service and to collaborate across centres.

The Network’s AYA Cancer Action Plan 2020 to 2025 identified that improvement is needed in timeliness and early referral to palliative care for young people as well as the development of age appropriate resources. As a result the Network has established the Palliative Care Working Group with health professional across the oncology continuum. This group is tasked with making further recommendations and providing expert oversight in this area.
