CanTeen has recently announced that due to financial difficulties the organisation is undertaking a significant restructure which includes a number of redundancies of the Youth Workers across the country. CanTeen has assured all involved that young people will continue to be central to the organisation and that during the restructure CanTeen will continue to support young people and their families.
As part of the restructure CanTeen has launched an online counselling and peer support forum. Online counsellors will be available seven days a week from 12noon-midnight on weekdays and 1pm-8pm on weekends. Young people will also be able to chat and share stories with other young people through the online peer support community which is available 24 hours a day.
If you need to let a young member know about these new services you can pass on the details below:
• Register to access online support via: www.canteensupport.org.nz
• Speak to a counsellor via chat
• Call the see if toll free number for counselling on 0800 119 229
